Gyula Mesterházy was born in Szombathely, then grew up in Bük, a nearby spa town in the vicinity of Austria. Since childhood he has been active in sports, trying out a wide variety of individual and team sports (athletics, football, swimming). He also dances with the local folk dance troupe. His talent was quickly recognised and he became one of the ensemble's leading solo dancers. Eventually, his dancing ambitions were replaced by acting. At the age of 23, he succumbed to the persuasion of a renowned fashion photographer in Budapest and produced his first professional photo series.

He trained at the prestigious Margit Földessy Theatre and Drama Studio and later at the József Attila Theatre Studio. In addition to his studies as an actor, he is also recognised abroad in campaigns for world brands. Prestigious European agencies regularly invite him to participate in high-profile productions. In commercials, he successfully uses his stage routine and acting skills. He receives invitations from the Far East, and then a permanent contract offer, which also gives him a choice. As a model, he has a significant international career ahead of him, but this is not compatible with theatre performances in Hungary. He accepted a contract offer from the Győr National Theatre.
